Lameness injuries plague horses of all disciplines and can be challenging and costly in both time and money to diagnose and treat appropriately. Regular evaluations, preventive strategies, and early detection & treatment are imperative in keeping your athlete performance ready. The team at F9 Equine is trained and equipped to keep your horse ready for competition.

Performance Evaluations
Let us evaluate your horse both standing and in motion to diagnose any hidden issues that are keeping your horse from performing at a high level. We recommend semi-annual to annual evaluations depending on your horse’s needs.

Podiatry
Dr. Fitzgerald’s farrier background gives him added perspective when managing foot lameness or other foot related problems. Together with your farrier, we can formulate a plan to ensure your horse’s feet are in the best shape possible by providing farrier consultations and farrier radiographs.

Laboratory Testing
F9 Equine offers both in-house and reference laboratory services to quickly and accurately diagnose ailments that may affect your horse’s performance.

Imaging - Radiography
We can take high quality x-rays from head to tail to identify problem areas in your horse's bones and joints.

Imaging - Ultrasound
This imaging tool is regularly used to image tendons and ligaments but can be used to look at soft tissues throughout the whole body.

Imaging - Upper Airway Endoscopy
This imaging is primarily used to diagnose conditions of the throat that can affect your horse's ability to breath and perform properly.

Imaging - Gastroscopy
The ONLY way to prove that your horse has stomach ulcers is to take a look! This can often be the underlying cause of performance issues. We offer gastroscopies in both clinic and field settings.
